About TrueFix San Diego
Find the fault. Explain it. Fix it.

TrueFix San Diego repairs household and light-commercial appliances in homes and businesses across San Diego County. Our approach is simple: diagnose the appliance properly, tell you what we found, and let you decide with a clear price in hand.

How we approach every repair

We repair refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, cooktops, microwaves, ice makers and wine coolers, from everyday brands to built-in premium equipment. Whatever the appliance, the work starts the same way: with a proper diagnosis.

A symptom rarely points to just one part. A refrigerator that is warm might have a failed evaporator fan, a defrost fault, a dirty condenser or a control problem. A dishwasher that will not drain might need a pump, or just a cleared filter and check valve. We test until the failed component is confirmed, because replacing parts on a guess costs you money and often leaves the real problem in place.

We also look for the reason a part failed. In San Diego that is often local: hard water scale in valves and heating elements, salt-air corrosion on coastal appliances, or a garage refrigerator working through an inland summer. Fixing the part without mentioning the cause just sets up the next service call.

Only then do we quote. You get one price for the repair, an explanation of what failed and why, and time to decide. No work begins until you approve it.

Listen

We start with what you have noticed: the noise, the error code, when it started and what has changed.

Test

The appliance is tested under load, with meters on the suspect parts, until the failed component is confirmed.

Explain

You see what failed and hear why, in plain terms, including any underlying cause such as scale, corrosion or a blocked vent.

Quote

One price for the repair. You decide whether to go ahead, and nothing is replaced until you do.

Repair

The failed part is replaced, using genuine manufacturer parts where they are available.

Verify

The appliance runs a full cycle while we check temperatures, fill, drain or heat, and the work area is left clean.

Our service philosophy

The standards we hold to on every visit, large or small.

1

Find the Fault First

A price comes after testing, not before. Swapping the likeliest part and hoping is how the same appliance fails again a month later.

2

You Approve the Price

You get a clear price for the repair before work starts. If we find something unexpected, we stop and ask before going further.

3

Honest About Replacing

When a repair is not a sensible investment, we say so and explain the reasoning. The decision is always yours.

4

Respect the Home

Floors protected, appliances moved with care, and the area cleaned before we leave, whether it is a quick fix or a long job.

Repair or replace: an honest answer

Not every appliance is worth repairing, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a repair you will regret. When we recommend one way or the other, we weigh:

  • Age compared with the typical service life of that type of appliance.
  • Repair cost compared with the price of a comparable replacement, installed.
  • Overall condition: whether other parts are worn, corroded or likely to fail next.
  • Parts availability for older or discontinued models.
  • Installation: built-in refrigerators, wall ovens and panel-ready dishwashers often favor repair, because replacing them can involve cabinetry.

A fairly new appliance with one failed part is usually worth fixing. An older one facing a costly repair, with other wear showing, often is not. Either way, you get our reasoning and the decision stays with you.

Clear communication, start to finish

Good customer service in appliance repair mostly comes down to not leaving people guessing. When you book, we confirm the appointment and ask about anything that affects access, such as building rules, gate codes or parking.

At the appliance, the technician explains what failed and why, shows you the part where that is practical, and gives you the price before any work starts. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you what it is and keep you updated until the return visit is booked.

If something unexpected turns up once the appliance is open, we stop and talk to you before doing anything more. The price you approved does not change without your agreement.
